A couple of months ago I had a client fly in from Canada for some coaching. I was impressed that she had made such an effort but it turned out that she wanted to prepare for an interview she was attending the next day. It would have been great if we had been able to do some preliminary work beforehand and I thought Skype would have been a good platform for this.

Yesterday the General Synod of the Church of England (by a narrow minority) voted to prevent the legislation which would have allowed women bishops from proceeding. The Church is now the only part of the British Establishment to openly practice direct discrimination. How can this be?

Various employment law cases over the past few years have confirmed that the Church is an employer and that ministers of religion are workers rather than office holders.

Just over a week ago, on the 13th November, Nick Clegg, Deputy Prime Minister, spent an uncomfortable ten minutes under the spotlight on BBC’s Radio 4. No it wasn’t the inimitable inquisitional interviewing of the Naughtie-Humphry pairing that made Nick sweat; it was Jane Garvey on Woman’s Hour who put him under the microscope.

London Borough, Training Needs Analysis

The council commissioned us to assess the training needs of their top managers. This involved us in developing a skills template and interviewing the managers against this criterion. We then wrote a report and a training plan which were accepted by the council.

We have provided and continue to provide successful support for the senior management team of a South London College and a high school in West London. This has included management training sessions, group work and continuing one to one coaching using face-to-face sessions, emails and Skype.

London Borough of EalingExperia Solutions won the contract tender in 2012 to ascertain how successful Northolt Library in Ealing had been in spending National Lottery funding to ensure that local communities had become actively engaged in the development, delivery and management of library services. We found that the project had been very successful but we were able to make some recommendations to improve their work

The university wanted to make sure their IT was able to support world-class research and teaching. We carried out desktop research, conducted interviews and focus groups with a diverse range of stakeholders and drew up an action plan, which was agreed, by the university.

London Borough Workforce Development

London BoroughExperia Solutions worked with a London borough for three years on a workforce strategy for their Adult and Housing Services Department. This involved desktop research, conducting interviews and focus groups with a range of stakeholders and drawing up a strategy with a range of recommendations. Our proposals were agreed by the council and we have helped introduce the recommendations. More recently we have reviewed the strategy so we can be sure it takes account of the changing local government environment.
